The Life Matters Charity: “A Child’s Voice” – Policy for Professionals Delivering the Programme 1. Purpose This policy outlines the responsibilities and expectations for teachers, mental health professionals, or other qualified staff delivering the A Child’s Voice 10-week programme. The programme addresses mental health, resilience, suicide prevention, and self-harm awareness, and includes lessons, resources, and assisted workbooks, which are both educational and safeguarding tools. 2. Scope This policy applies to all professionals delivering A Child’s Voice using a licensed workbook in schools or approved settings. 3. Licensing & Usage Each assisted workbook purchased grants a 1-year licence for the professional to deliver the 10-week programme. The cost of each workbook is £50, reflecting its role as both a lesson resource and a safeguarding tool. Licences are per workbook, per setting; each workbook may only be used to deliver the programme in the setting for which it was purchased. Copying, sharing, or distributing workbooks or programme materials outside the licensed setting is strictly prohibited. 4. Professional Responsibilities Deliver the programme as designed, using the licensed workbook and resources. Monitor student wellbeing and respond appropriately to distress or concerning behaviour. Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality, except where safeguarding concerns require reporting. Escalate any disclosures of self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or abuse immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in the setting. Use assisted workbooks responsibly; they are not optional worksheets but structured safeguarding tools. 5. Safeguarding & Student Safety Professionals must follow the safeguarding policies of the setting in which they deliver the programme. Safety planning exercises in the workbook should be applied consistently. Any safeguarding concerns must be documented and escalated per the setting’s procedures. 6. Feedback & Updates The Life Matters Charity may provide programme updates or additional resources during the licence period. Professionals are encouraged to provide feedback to improve programme effectiveness and safety. 7. Compliance Misuse of materials, failure to follow safeguarding procedures, or breach of licence terms may result in licence termination and potential legal action. 8.
