Dance school .heic

On 24th and 25th June, Regan Performing Arts, based at Hempstead Village Hall, put on their BIG dance show “A Night in a Museum” at the Central Theatre in Chatham, Kent - their first at this theatre and what an experience for all their students!

It was a fun filled dance extravaganza based in a museum of curiosities where all was not what it seemed! There was so much to see from creatures of the deep blue sea to a painting that came alive!

Their whole dance family got involved in making the performances a success with parents helping with admin, costumes, prop making and backstage and their students working hard on their dances!

The Principal Linda Regan and Vice Principal Nina Helmer, wanted to use these performances to support this worthy cause with audience members making voluntary donations for a programme on each of the performances!

A little about the school…

The school was established in November 1988 by Linda Regan (Principal) when she was just 18 and is still run and taught by Linda along with Nina, who started out as a student age 9, when the school first opened.

It is approved by the well-respected International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A.) which is an Ofqual (Office of Qualifications and Examinations) recognised awarding organisation.  Linda Regan is also a senior examiner for the association and committee member for both the Musical Theatre & Theatre Craft faculties.

Regan Performing Arts Academy provides friendly and enjoyable classes in Ballet, Tap, Acrobatic Dance, Modern Jazz, Musical Theatre, Theatre Craft, Freestyle & Street dance. These are held weekly on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at Hempstead Village Hall and students of all ages from aged 2.5 to 18 years plus are welcome. They also offer the opportunity for students to regularly participate in I.D.T.A dance examinations and performances.

Amazingly, a number of their students have been successfully nominated for exams and represented the school at the prestigious I.D.T.A Theatre Awards and I.D.T.A Freestyle Awards.

Finally remember dance is not only a good form of physical exercise but is also known to be great for reducing stress and anxiety to help improve mental health!

A Big 'Thank You' To Nina and her amazing children for their generous voluntary donations. It was so lovely to meet you all and to see how happy the children were during their dance routines.

A Founder Who Leads With Heart

Our charity’s founder pours her whole heart into everything she does. Not only does she work tirelessly as our CEO, she is deeply committed to helping others heal. Through her compassionate clairvoyant evenings, she offers comfort to those grieving loved ones who have passed into spirit, as well as gentle support to individuals affected by suicide. Her loving messages bring hope, connection, and light when they’re needed most.

At her most recent clairvoyant evening, she raised £175.00, with every penny going directly to the children supported by The Life Matters. These beautiful events continue to touch hearts while raising vital funds.

Here is a wonderful testimonial from the latest evening:

“You have an amazing energy—flipping brilliant—and you’re great at audience participation. I’ll definitely come to the next one and I’ll spread the word! Beautiful lady, and you look absolutely stunning! I honestly had a great evening. You are beautiful inside and out. So pleased for you. xx”

Her dedication, compassion, and gift for bringing people together are at the heart of everything we do.

Wearing both her CEO hat and, for the evening, her clairvoyant hat, our CEO had the honour of demonstrating for the Hoo community in front of 70 guests in support of The Life Matters charity. She does not take any payment for her clairvoyant work, as the evening was about giving back, connection, and community. Spirit delivered unique and memorable messages — from a mouse in a bath to stuffed parrots — bringing tears of joy, sadness, healing, and truth. The love in the room was palpable, the outcomes of the night were incredible, and we are deeply grateful to have received a £400 cheque for The Life Matters. What a night.
