Volunteer Opportunity at The Life Matters
Our Mission
At The Life Matters, we transform the lives of children, young adults, and families by delivering evidence-based services that promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Why Volunteer With Us?

Make a real difference – Play a direct role in changing a child’s life.

Empower young people – Help children develop coping strategies and build emotional resilience.

1:1 opportunities available – Once trained, and upon receipt of satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check, volunteers may have the opportunity to work on a one-to-one basis delivering the A Child’s Voice programme directly to children and young people.

Professional training provided – Full training and ongoing mentorship included.

Supportive environment – Work within clear policies and procedures with guidance from our experienced team.
About the Role
-
Support vulnerable children across a variety of settings.
-
Help improve children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.
-
Deliver structured, evidence-based interventions.

Work in environments such as:

Schools
-
Youth hubs
-
GP surgeries
-
-
Travel to reasonable local locations (petrol expenses reimbursed).
Key Requirements
-
Experience and/or qualifications working with vulnerable children.
-
Enhanced DBS check (mandatory).
-
Knowledge of safeguarding principles (highly desirable).
-
Commitment to a minimum of 8 hours per month to provide consistency for children.

Ability to work flexibly across different community settings.
