Every day, more children are showing signs of emotional distress—through anxiety, withdrawal, self-harm, or even suicidal thoughts. But too often, the adults around them don’t know how to respond.

A Child’s Voice, developed by The Life Matters children and team, is a trauma-informed, child-led self healing, early intervention programme designed to give children aged 8–18 a safe space to explore emotions and be heard before a crisis escalates.

Why Become a Trained Facilitator?

Because children are asking for help in ways we don’t always know how to hear.

By becoming a trained Child’s Voice Facilitator, you’ll gain the skills, structure, and support needed to deliver this 10-week wellbeing programme confidently in your home, school, service, or community.

What the Training Includes

You will be trained and certified to deliver the full A Child’s Voice programme, which includes:

  • Step-by-step guidance for 10 themed sessions

  • Tools to help children explore difficult emotions through creative expression

  • Methods to identify early signs of self-harm, suicidal ideation, and trauma

  • Safe facilitation strategies for groups and 1:1 sessions

  • Techniques to build self-regulation, resilience, and trust

  • Access to all programme materials, session plans, and workbooks

  • Ongoing email and online support, plus a growing peer network

Receive a  personal Training Workbook, resources and online support.

Recieve one children's  "A Child's Voice" 10 weeks workbook programme containing  creative tasks and daily commitments to help them regulate emotions, reflect on their progress, and practice self-care between sessions.

Note. Each child referred to the programme must receive a personal workbook which becomes theirs, further workbooks can be purchased separately from the charity.

A Child’s Voice – Workbook Programme Summary

A Child’s Voice is a structured workbook programme designed to support children and young people in developing emotional awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of personal voice. Once practitioners have completed the required training, they can purchase the programme at a cost to the facilitator and then deliver it directly to a child or young person.

The trained facilitator delivers the full 10-week programme, working through the workbook with the child or young person in a supportive, empowering, and developmentally appropriate way.

The programme provides a clear, child-centred structure alongside a range of professional supports, including:

  • Comprehensive workbook programme for you to deliver over 10 weeks

  • Online safeguarding support to ensure safe and informed practice

  • Online mental-health guidance to assist practitioners in supporting young people’s wellbeing

  • Additional digital and paper resources to enhance learning, engagement and evaluation 

  • Online supervision offering professional oversight and reflective practice over the duration of the 12 weeks
